SOS Children’s Villages UK welcomes new trustees

SOS Children’s Villages UK is delighted to announce the appointment of four new trustees to its Board, who collectively bring with them a host of skills and experience. Suli Hampson, Louise McDonald, Janet Reilly and Jon Steinback between them contribute expertise in finance, human resources, and communications and marketing. They join a dedicated board which has gone from strength to strength under the leadership of Harpinder Collacott, who joined SOS Children’s Villages UK in January 2022.

Suli has over 20 years’ experience in financial services and management consulting, including senior roles with Lloyds Banking Group, PwC and KPMG, while Jon has over two decades’ leadership experience at tech companies such as DeepMind, Facebook, and Google. Jon has also been a long-time supporter of SOS Children’s Villages, volunteering with SOS Children’s Villages in Swaziland (now Eswatini) over 20 years ago.

Janet and Louise have substantial expertise in human resources. Janet is the Director of People & Culture for Development Initiatives, and has over 30 years’ experience acquired from a variety of sectors including international development, education, housing and blue-chip professional services. Louise has worked in human resources in both national not-for-profits and international organisations, including the Australian Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent and Oxfam International, and is currently the Director of People & Culture for Mines Advisory Group International.

The new board members join SOS Children’s Villages UK at an important time in the organisation’s trajectory, as it seeks to build on successes over the past two years. At a mid-point in its three-year strategy, over the coming months, it will continue to diversify its funding and donor base, strengthen safeguarding and make a greater impact for children and young people without parental care or at risk or losing it.
