Why we are working together:
Chew for Change raises awareness of proper dental hygiene and supports healthy self-esteem of children living in poverty. The sale of Extra chewing gum across the Republic of Ireland, beginning in autumn 2022, supports this project. Working in partnership, SOS Children’s Villages and Extra are supporting children and families to secure a better, healthier future.
What we are doing:
Over this two–year partnership, we are providing oral health education and access to dental services to children and caregivers in remote communities in the most remote regions of Botswana. This project also supports our Family Strengthening Programme in Zambia; helping families in crisis stay together by supporting them to access services such as social housing and healthcare, help with vocational training, provide parenting workshops and provide counselling to build nurturing and safe family homes.
