A global partnership for youth employability

YouthCan! brings together SOS Children’s Villages’ corporate partners and their employees to share their time, skills, expertise and own career stories, online and offline, to support young people into decent work and employment.

YouthCan! combines mentoring, first work experience, and soft and technical skills trainings with one comprehensive approach. The programme is locally-ledtailored to the local labour market and to the needs of each young people.

In 2020, 6,500 young people across 37 countries received holistic support through YouthCan! This was made possible through the commitment and engagement of over 1,400 volunteers from 232 partners worldwide

The ambitions of  the young people involved has inspired multinational, national and local businesses, as well as governmental institutions, training providers and other supports to come together to empower young people – helping to reach the Sustainable Development Goal 17 – on partnerships to achieve the goals.

The pandemic has erased years of progress for a generation of young people growing up alone. Working with partners, we can give them access to digital tools, mentors and online skills training so they can get back to building their future.

Through the digital platform YouthLinks we can leverage the power of technology to expand and ensure that young people have continued access to training and mentoring, as well as personal and professional networks.
