SOS Children’s Villages helps almost 60,000 children in 125 countries around the world. Without our supporters, we could not do this. Here, you can discover all the best ways to help such as fundraising or raising awareness for us.

What better way to be remembered than to have given a child a future? A gift in your will can contribute to providing a loving family home and a community for children.

Your gift could also make a significant change by strengthening communities who need our help. It could provide the life-changing opportunity of education for a vulnerable child. Your gift can help to ensure that our work continues into the future and gives hope for a lifetime. Every gift makes a difference.

We understand that leaving a legacy is a special and personal decision. We will use your gift wisely and cost-effectively so that it has the greatest impact for children.

Gift Aid a scheme enabling registered charities like SOS Children’s Villages to reclaim tax on a donation made by a UK taxpayer, effectively increasing the amount of the donation.

It allows us to claim back the basic rate tax paid by our supporters. In this way we can increase the value of donations at no extra cost to the donor.

SOS Children reclaims the tax from HM Revenue & Customs on donations at their ‘gross’ equivalent – its value before tax was deducted at the basic rate. Currently the rate is 20%. The amount of tax reclaimed can be worked out by dividing the amount donated by five. This means that for every £1 donated, an extra 25 pence can be claimed by the charity and added to the donation.

To become part of the scheme you will need to make a Gift Aid Declaration to SOS Children’s Villages UK.

Remembering someone who you cared for by donating to a cause that was dear to them during their lifetime is a wonderful way to pay tribute.

A gift in memory of any size will help SOS Children’s Villages support children and families at risk and help prevent child abandonment and neglect. There are lots different ways to give in tribute to a loved one to choose from. For example:

  1. Create a tribute page on an online giving website such as Virgin Money Giving or BT MyDonate which you can personalise.
  2. Request donations in lieu of flowers or collect funeral donations.
  3. Set up a monthly donation.
SOS Give in memory
Twins, Alice and May, came to SOS Children's Village Chipata when they were 4 days old. Their birth was a traumatic experience for their mother as she had to deliver them by the roadside on her way to a distant clinic. Worse still, she passed away a few hours after their birth due to excessive bleeding.

Payroll giving enables employees to donate to any UK charity straight from their wages. Your donation will come to us automatically every month, straight from your pay packet, until you decide to cancel it. This means that once it is set up, you don’t have to worry about remembering to give again.

Payroll giving is the most tax efficient way that you can donate to SOS Children’s Villages. This is because the donation comes out before tax is deducted from your earnings. This means that in order to donate a total of £10, you would only need to pay £8 from your salary If you pay a higher rate of income tax than the basic rate, this could be even more.

If your employer doesn’t offer payroll giving, why not suggest that they start? It’s virtually cost-free and can help them meet their corporate social responsibility commitments (CSR) while enhancing their relationship with their employees.
