How SOS is helping people affected by coronavirus
SOS Children's Villages teams are on the ground, providing everyday items like food and soap, and ongoing support to the families most in need. But this has come at an unexpected extra cost, which is why we need your help.
In Somalia, before the coronavirus hit, it cost just $2 for a pack of protective face masks. Now that same pack costs $50. Doctors, nurses and other frontline staff in SOS hospitals and clinics cannot afford to protect themselves from the virus when they treat those affected.
We will be here to support those affected both now and in the long-term. We have been working in complex emergency settings for decades, so we will use our experience to rebuild lives and livelihoods.
Children and families need your help now. Please donate now and we will spend the money helping people in the poorest countries in the world cope. As a thank you, we will send you a free gift – see below for details.
