In brief: Our response so far
Child-friendly spaces and social care centres: Our child friendly spaces are a safe, secure place for children amid the horror and chaos of natural disaster. By providing daycare, we give parents the flexibility to begin to re-establish normality. We have set up 14 so far, reaching more than 1,200 children. In hard hit locations such as Patan and Kavre, we are delivering medical care, advice and support, and are helping connect families to government services.
Reuniting families and caring for lone children: We will take in unaccompanied children while we seek to reunite them with their families. We will find care for children with no one else and potentially offer them care in our Children's Villages if they have no one else.
Aid for desperate families: We are providing food, water, medical care and shelter to families at our Village in Jorpati. Our 'homes-in-a-box' will also provide families with the basic provisons they need to survive until they can return to normality.
