After making its debut in the United Kingdom in 2014, GivingTuesday is back for another year. On Tuesday, 1 December 2015, people around the world will use the internet and social media to raise awareness and money for the work charities do. This global day of giving is a chance to give back amidst the frenzy of Christmas consumerism. Last year, over 180 million got involved in GivingTuesday online.
What is SOS Children doing?
We need your support this GivingTuesday! We’ll be raising funds to make sure all children can flourish and reach their full-potential. We know that the right support makes all the difference to a child’s future, which is why we’re focusing on mums.
Giving children the love of a mother is the core of what we do. We’re the world’s largest charity that focuses on helping orphaned and abandoned children.
We provide loving homes to children with no-one in 125 countries. Each family is headed by a local woman who has dedicated her life to raising orphaned and abandoned children with us. These women are our SOS mothers. Thanks to them, we loved, cared for, and supported over 60,000 children in 2014.
There are loads of ways to get involved! Follow our #MumsMatter campaign on social media and start your own JustGiving campaign for us. Or, if you are on the go, simply text MUMS15 to 70070 to donate £3. Help us reach even more vulnerable children with #MumsMatter this GivingTuesday.
Be sure to tweet about your campaign and let us know you make a donation to SOS Children! You can even share our Motherhood video, which will tug at the heartstrings of your followers.
On 1 December you have the chance to do something truly impactful! Involve your friends, family, community and colleagues and make a difference in vulnerable children’s lives.
