On 8 July 2012, Team SOS Children will be amongst the 25,000 runners lining up at Wellington Arch to begin the race. The runners will pass some of the world's most iconic landmarks as they surge through the nation's Capital.
This year’s race will be even more special. Not only is it taking place just days before the Olympic games begin, but for the first time ever, the race has partnered with Nike. We believe that this will make the race bigger and better than ever before. In the lead up to race day, Nike are offering training advice and support to runners to help them set goals, track performance during training and inspire them to the finish line on race day.
You can run to make a difference to orphaned and abandoned children
Running is this year’s race is your chance to help change a child’s life and give disadvantaged families a better future. Each of our runners makes a pledge to raise £120 to support our work caring for orphaned and abandoned children around the world. Running for SOS Children is not only about raising funds but also about raising awareness amongst your friends, family and community.
Lottie Riddle, Challenge Event Coordinator at SOS Children, says she’s looking forward to the event: “We can’t wait to cheer on our Team SOS Children runners at this year’s British 10k London Run. It’s set to be a fantastic atmosphere on race day and most importantly the event will raise vital funds for the children in our care”.
