Christmas came early for kids at the SOS Children’s Village in Rustenburg, South Africa, when representatives from the Tottenham Hotspur SuperSport Academy delivered presents donated by the club.

The gifts were handed out on behalf of the club to 80 children aged from four months to 21 years old.

Spurs have a special relationship with the Rustenburg village, which opened in 2006 and includes Tottenham Hotspur House, uniquely funded by monies received from players’ fines.

Members of Spurs’ current first team also sponsor children in the village. Last July, Spurs and England centre half Michael Dawson met 12-year-old Aubrey, the child he sponsors at the village. See the report here.

SOS Children has been working in South Africa since the early 1980s. There are currently eight SOS Children's Villages in South Africa caring for over 800 children. In total, we help more than 9,000 people in South Africa through our Villages, schools and family strengthening programmes.
