Elene, 19, lives with her husband and two-year old daughter Jessica in Port-au-Prince in Haiti. Thanks to the Social Centre run by the SOS Family Strengthening Programme, Elene is able to learn a trade and bring in an income to support her young family.

Maria Weber was one of the first SOS mothers when she arrived at SOS Children’s very first SOS Village in Imst, Austria, in 1951. Throughout her life, she was mother to 20 children, grandmother to 36, and great-grandmother to 20 children.
