A child sponsorship report from Daegu in South Korea. Written in 2009.

Dear sponsors and friends,

Hello. How you have been in this cold weather?

It's already at the end of the year DEC 2009. We had a pleasant year this year due to your support. We appreciate our sponsors who's been sharing with us despite the extreme recession.

There have been some changes in our village in 2009. Last September, Fr. Park, Seung-Jae Aloysius resigned from the director of Daegu Village and we have got a new priest, Lee, Byung-Hoon John. Also we accepted 12 children as our family this year. They come to our village due to their family affairs such as parents divorce, death etc. They were having hard time in the beginning adapting themselves to the new environment but they are smiling now as a result of SOS mothers' love. I would appreciate your support and love for the children to grow up healthy.

There was a camp that all the children in the village participated from August 9th to 14th last summer. They enjoyed swimming, climbing mountains, fishing, campfire etc. They are studying hard for their 2nd semester and participating in activities such as English, Chinese, piano, traditional percussion quartet, play etc.

We are planning to have a Christmas party at home like last year and will have a great Christmas sharing the gifts our sponsors and SOS mothers prepared.

The children learn basic techniques for their independence through the independence support project conducted by Daegu village for 2 years. They are also preparing for their future after they leave SOS children's village.

We want you to know that all of these were possible because of your love and kindness. We are always grateful for your donations and are using it efficiently for the children. Because of your help the children are having happy lives.

We believe you sponsors' support and love for the children will continue next year 2010. We pray for your family to be with blessings of the GOD all the time.

Merry Christmas and happy new year!
