Dear Child sponsors and friends,

In this occasion allow us to present our progress report of second half of year 2009 regarding to the development and the recent events in our village to you.

The total of children is 161 (91girls and 70 boys) including 19 boys at youth house, 6 young men at hostel, 26 at state dormitory and 111 children ( 55 boys and 56 girls) living now in the village. All of them are in good health. In this grand vacation we will move 7 young boys from village to youth house and 6 from youth house to hostel. 8 mothers and 12 aunties have a high responsibility to take care of their beloved children.

For the academic year 2009-10, almost of our children are attending in SOS School Xiengkhouang: 2 in nursery, 42 in primary level, 35 in lower secondary level, 28 in upper secondary level, 10 boys just finished their high school and obtained proudly the certificate, 15 in vocational schools on different branches such as: 1 on sciences branch, 3 on Agriculture, 3 on Polytechnic subject , 2 on Education administration, 5 on Business Administration, 1 on car and truck driving. One well-behaved young boy has graduated as bachelor degree on Political sciences and will become a teacher at one government university and 2 girls obtained the high diploma on teacher branch and started working as English and Math teachers at one government school in the countryside.  The important activities were taken place inside and outside the village: celebration on traditional festivals (Buddhist Lent), on International Children’s Day, on SOS Day.

On 7.10.2009 as a Teacher’s Day our mothers as the guardians of our children joined this official ceremony which was organized by the province with entertainment performance and sport competition; our women volley ball team won the 1st prize. The predominant activity for this year was the Honor Ring award ceremony for our 4 mothers from FH 05, 10, 11 and 12 who were hard working for 10 years ago. This ceremony was leaded by our President of SOS Children International and our Continental Director with participation of our provincial SOS Committees.

The refreshed monthly meetings for mothers and staffs were organized as usually to improve their responsibility; therefore our mothers could bring up the children in good way of their life and our staffs could fulfill their works in good right.

Our SOS nursery provides now 101 kids in which 99 come from neighborhood and 9 of them from the very poor families obtain the scholarship and lunches prepared by our SOS mothers.

Dear Sponsors and Dear Friends, your generous and continuous support would enable us to continue our works in SOS Children’s Village; it is no more word to express our grateful thanks and great gratitude for your kindness. We try our best to take care of the children and would like to wish you a longevity, success in your works as well as in your personal life.
