Join our network of advocates

gulu children ugandaChildren without parents are the most vulnerable members of society and lack of stable care is putting thousands of children at heightened risk of malnourishment, violence, illiteracy, poverty, sexual exploitation and HIV infection.

We're recruiting enthusiastic volunteers to reach out to communities across the UK to raise awareness of the difficulties vulnerable children face everyday.

Giving talks in your local area can make a difference through inspiring others to take action.

You don't need to be from a professional background to give inspiring talks; all that is required is an enthusiasm for children's rights and the work of SOS Children.

Your role as a speaker

As an SOS Children speaker we are asking you to:

  • Give talks in your local area about the problems and risks of being an orphan, and how SOS Children is working to meet the rights of vulnerable children
  • Champion how SOS Children is tackling these inequalities
  • Raise awareness of SOS Children through seeking out speakers opportunities or chances to represent SOS Children
  • Encourage the groups you visit to carry out fundraising events, make a donation or sponsor a child
  • Keep SOS Children informed of all planned activities and events, send on funds raised, and cooperate in any necessary follow up
  • Enjoy inspiring others to make a difference
