Host your own fundraising event

Children clapping in IndiaThrough hosting your own fundraising event for SOS Children you will make a lasting contribution to the lives of vulnerable children around the world. Not only will you have lots of fun but you'll also play a vital role in the work we do caring for orphaned and abandoned children.

You can start raising funds for SOS Children today. Here's our simple step-by-step guide to help you get started:

Step 1: What event would you like to do?

Choose an event that you and your friends would like to do. Get creative and keep it fun and original.

Step 2: Set a date

Think of the best date to hold your event. Choose a date which allows plenty of time for preparation and ensure it doesn't clash with any big events. Once you have set a date - tell us about it. This allows us enough time to send you any resources and advice you need to help with the day.

Step 3: Find a location

Choose a suitable venue that is easily accessible. It's always worth asking if they have a charity rate to book it out.

Step 4: Promote, promote, promote

You need to get the word out; invite your friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to get involved. Use social media to maximise your impact and put posters and leaflets up in your local community.

Step 5: Send the funds in

Send in all the funds raised to SOS Children along with any photos from the event. We love to see what our supporters have been up to. Finally, enjoy hosting a successful event and thank everyone that attended.

We hope the following information will answer any questions you may have and help make your event a huge success.
