Fundraising with Virgin Money Giving

Children from Cochabamba, Bolivia, at the computerWe recommend using Virgin Money Giving if you wish to fundraise online.  Both Virgin Money Giving and Justgiving make small charges to process your online fundraising.  Using Virgin Money Giving means that more money reaches SOS Children.

What are the differences between Justgiving and Virgin Money Giving?

Here we explain the differences to help you choose which one to use when you are fundraising for SOS Children:

Initially, when we signed up to Virgin Money Giving, we had to pay a £100 one-off sign up fee.  There was no initial payment to Justgiving, but we pay a monthly charge of £15 + VAT to be able to continue as a charity that you can raise funds for.

The table below shows the different costs that a £10 donation undergoes when made on Justgiving or Virgin Money Giving:

As you can see, a £10 Gift Aided donation to SOS Children through Virgin Money Giving results in an extra 41p getting to our charity compared to a £10 Gift Aided donation on Justgiving.  This is why we currently recommend Virgin Money Giving if you are planning to fundraise online for SOS Children.
