“Whatever you spend that is good for parents and relations and orphans and the destitute.” 2:215

Giving is a central tenet of Islam. This Ramadan make a real and lasting change to children in need.

For over 35 years SOS Children’s Villages in Pakistan have been giving orphaned and abandoned children  a mother, brothers & sisters, a home and a better future.

Children from PakistanIn the four provinces of Pakistan and in ten cities, SOS Children reaches out to more and more vulnerable and desperate children.

More than 13,000 children and families are supported in Pakistan through SOS Children’s Villages based at Lahore, Dhodial, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Karachi, Sargodha, Multan, Sialkhot, Quetta and Islamabad.

137 SOS mothers care for over 1,100 children at these SOS Children’s Villages.Pakistan map

Additionally, around 6,000 children and their families received practical aid in the community and in their own homes through health counseling; community support; and programmes to help keep families together such as income generating activities for families; health care and counselling.

Programmes like these meet the needs of the communities and are flexible.  SOS Children work with communities to make sure children are part of the local neighbourhood.

It is our duty to help these children; that they have a family and community caring for them.
