Free Christmas Gift! Child-safe Schools Wikipedia

SOS Children is very grateful to all the donors and people who sponsored a child this Christmas and before. We want to try to make Christmas better for everyone including those who are really struggling, which was one reason we launched free Christmas e-cards.

In October we (jointly with the Wikimedia foundation) launched another free resource for children, the Wikipedia for Schools DVD. This was originally developed as a resource for the developing world where internet access was limited but has proven very popular here.

The Schools Wikipedia has been checked by volunteers and has content sorted by the national curriculum topic.
Now we have printed off another batch for people to give as a present for Christmas. This makes a large piece of Wikipedia accessible in a child-safe form for those without internet access, and contains as much information as a 20 volume encyclopaedia (as well as 35,000 pictures).

We are still posting these DVDs out free to individuals anywhere in the world, so ask now in time for Christmas while stocks last! We are likely to get copies out in time for Christmas if requests are received this week. People outside the UK may not receive physical copies for Christmas but if you are prepared to put a little time into your gift you could download a free copy to put onto someone's PC right up until Christmas eve.
