Teddies sent to the children of Haiti

Teddies arrive in Haiti 2Nine-year-old  Louis Greaves, from Steep, has been collecting teddies for orphans in Haiti left devestated by the earthquake. He managed to collect 151 teddies from schoolfriends and other people he knows. The teddies arrived at the SOS Children's Village in Santo, Port-au-Prince at the weekend and all the children were very excited to receive them!

Louis said: "Lots of people are sending food and medical supplies to Haiti - but what about love? I wanted to collect teddy bears to send them to the orphans of Haiti to give them something of their own to cherish".

Louis' mum Jo helped too by contacting DHL Express and asking if the teddies could be sent for free, which they gladly did! A courier from DHL came to Louis' school to help pack all the teddies in boxes ready to be shipped. DHL spokeswoman Alice Bowman sais: "We were more than happy to help".
