Child sponsorship update from Huehuetocha, Mexico
Update for child sponsors from the SOS Children's Village Huehuetocha, Mexico from Winter 2008.
Dear Sponsors:
We were looking forward to contacting you again, in order to inform you the latest events at the Village during this spell, and also to send our most honest gratitude to you for your whole support along one more year.
Thanks to your invaluable help, SOS Children’s Village Huehuetoca nowadays assists 112 boys, girls and youths, whose development is our priority at the Village, and the main challenge for the all collaborators.
We start telling you that the Village’s football team was champion of the municipality’s children’s league. The championship was a very important challenge for the football players!, who got very proud due to their victory. Their effort was prized with a visit to “Malinalco”, an archeological center located in the Mexico State; where the winning team learnt about the “Mexica culture”, and shared a health diversion time by fishing the trout, they ate.
On the other hand, my friends; I am glad to inform you that the families, which were taken in through the last months, are getting used to in a good way. They seem to be happy of having a family and the opportunity to go to school. Every member of the new families is doing his best in order to catch up. Step by step, they also have integrated with the activities in and out the Village.
The workshop for SOS Mothers called: “skilled children for life”, finished through this cycle. It provided mothers with practical tools for working with children and youths. The workshop keeps mothers encouraged to continue their labor.
Another important progress among the community was the 20 computer donation, which made possible that nowadays every Village’s family houses have a computer, which makes easier the homework and school essays elaboration.
To celebrate the SOS Children's Villages' anniversary, we invited to the Village children from the surrounded schools. There was a children’s school military band. We organised sport games and closed it with a rally.
As you can see, these have been positive months. There have been good news for this Village’s community. We hope to finish the year in the same way, and we also wish the same for you. We wish you had a life plenty of blessing.
We will not stop ever to thank you for your hearts’ generosity.
Regards,
