Gomes named SOS Children Ambassador
Tottenham Hotspur and Brazilian international goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has been named the Club’s official ambassador to SOS Children.
Gomes will lead on the Club’s work with SOS Children, which will include raising the profile of the Tottenham Hotspur's relationship with the charity both in the UK and elsewhere around the world.
Gomes said, “For me it is an honour to be asked to take on this role on behalf of the Club. I am very proud to be the Club's ambassador to SOS Children’s Villages and I’m thankful for the opportunity to support their work.”
Elizabeth Rodgers, Communications Manager for SOS Children’s Villages added, “We are very appreciative of the support we receive from Tottenham Hotspur and we welcome Gomes as the Club’s official ambassador with open arms. He will be a great addition to the SOS Children family and we look forward to working with him in the near future.”
SOS Children has been the Club’s official global charity partner since 2007 when a four-year relationship was established. Much of the Club's work has focussed on South Africa where the Club has financed the construction of the Tottenham Hotspur House in the SOS Children’s Village of Rustenburg. Earlier this week, the squad arrived in Beijing for the Barclays Asia Trophy.
