Update for child sponsors from the SOS Children's Village Tela, Honduras from Winter 2008.

Dear Sponsors:

We are very happy to contact you one more time and to send to you a special greeting of love and peace on behalf of the children, Mothers and collaborators of the SOS Children Village Tela.

The generous help that you give us makes possible that 125 children divided in 14 houses can enjoy of the warm and more important of a family where they share, between their laughs and games, the respect for their rights and their dignity of humans beings.

The scholar year has finished and the children enjoy their vacation in home and they now enjoy the cultural, religious, and sportive activities that their mothers prepare to them; nevertheless they also are integrated to the support of the activities of the Village and the community too. Some of the youths give their support to the National Rehabilitation Center to obtain money for the disabled children.

The children, immediately after the closing of the SOS Educational Centre, were registered in public schools. The balance of this new experience was positive because the children have integrated very well, not without the help of their mothers who has made a big effort to obtain the outstanding performance of the children. The mothers believe that the change is positive because they can share some experience with the mothers of the community. The youths of the Youth Facility have approved their scholar year; two of them already have a stable job and the other one works middle time.

The youths who are integrated in the juvenile group of the church have projected and they have supported to the prevention of AIDS, they not only give conferences in colleges of the town, but also they are trying to sensitize the people about the human treat that has to give to the people with this illness.
