Sponsor's update from Seoul, South Korea
Child sponsorship update from the SOS Children's Village Seoul, South Korea from December 2007
Dear Sponsor
Hello. How have you been? We thank all the sponsors who have been supporting the children of Seoul SOS Children's Village. Your love and kindness mean so much to the children.
We are doing our best to raise and protect our children. We are also providing the children with various education programs to better their future.
As always, SOS Children's Village in Seoul has been providing the children with many programs throughout this year.
1. August, 2007. Our children went to summer camp with the support of SK Corporations and our program volunteers.
29 elementary school children from our Village, 15 volunteers from SK Corporations, and 14 volunteers from Sang-Myung University enjoyed the summer camp at Gang-Won Province of Korea. The children had the opportunity to experience life at the countryside and learn to be independent for 3 days.
2. September, 2007. We have started a project to support ‘multicultural’ families in the community.
Here at Seoul SOS Children's Village, we have initiated a project to support destitution multicultural families and their children. We are helping them by providing opportunities to participate in various educational programs as well as providing medical supports. To stay true to the motto of SOS Children's Village, 'All children in the world are our children' we started this project to protect the kids who are living under prejudices due to their difference in ethnicity. Presently, Children's mother is foreigner(from Japan, Philippine and China) to children are supported by this project.

3. September, 2007. With tremendous support from CJ Corporations, we have started 'Children's Cooking Class.'
Children in middle school are participating in 'Children's Cooking Class,' held every other Tuesday (twice a month) with the help from CJ corporations. Many children in this Village are hoping to become chefs or pursue careers in culinary field, so we have asked for help to CJ Corporations' culinary experts.
4. October, 2007. 'English Adventure,' an English camp, was successfully administered with the help of PCA Life Corporations and British Culture Centre.
We have provided an opportunity for the children to learn the language from native-speaking teachers for two weeks. As the result of the program, many children are now showing tremendous interest toward English and its culture.
5. November, 2007. Our children had fun on '2007 Sports Day with Volunteers.'
We invited the volunteers who have helped us and our children greatly through their devotion and passion to our annual Sports Day. We held competitions such as soccer tournaments that involved several teams including that of Seoul SOS Children's Village and GS Corporations, Johsondiversey Corporations, soccer team of Maponaru. By taking parts in the tournament, our children were able to bond with the volunteers.
Here at Seoul SOS Children's Village, we will try harder to better our children's future and brighten their paths. We are also praying for you and your family. We hope you all enjoy wonderful holidays this year.
Thank you very much.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
