Business women Deborah Meaden, best known for appearing on BBC's 'Dragons Den' has lent her support for Bowler Hat Day. Deborah Meaden is backing Bowler Hat Day for World Orphan Week, to make the Square Mile smile for a day and change an orphan's life forever.

On Friday of World Orphan Week (13th February 2009) Bowler Hat Day will transform the Square Mile for 24 hours as city workers don a Bowler Hat for their journey into and away from work.

Deborah says: "I'm proud to be supporting Bowler Hat Day. It's the perfect opportunity for the City to have a well deserved break from economic discomfort and for one day have a bit of fun whilst making a difference to the life of orphans. SOS Children do fantastic work at providing a home and family for lone children all around the world, helping kids who really do have nothing and no one. I encourage you and your colleagues to don a Bowler during World Orphan Week - it will life the spirits of the City and make sure more orphans can have a family for life."

How to get involved in Bowler Hat Day

Join Deborah and wear a Bowler Hat!

Sadly, not everyone in the City has a Bowler Hat. Therefore, to take part in Bowler Hat Day you can:

1. Buy your individual Bowler

You can use any old Bowler to take part in Bowler Hat Day.

Bowler Hats can be inexpensive and cheap ones are available so are plastic bowlers.

2. Get your whole office involved

If you want to order a batch of plastic bowlers to get your whole office involved in Bowler Hat Day, call Caroline at SOS on 01223 365589 or email Caroline for more information and pledge a donation to SOS (on top of the cost of £1.50 a hat) and we will get the Bowlers delivered to your office door (provided it's in the City).

Don't miss out on this opportunity to make the Square Mile smile, whilst changing orphans' lives forever.
