Bowler Hat Day - 13th February 2009

Once upon a time a smart, prosperous, principled City of London was epitomised by the Bowler Hat. The Bowler is all but extinct in the City, but for one day we want you to bring it back to celebrate the City and get the Square Mile smiling again.

Bowler Hat Day is a unique event that will transform the Square Mile for 24 hours and give orphans a family for life with SOS Children, the world's largest orphan charity.

On 13th February 2009 we are asking everyone in the City to wear a Bowler Hat to work. If you decide to take part you can send a special Bowler Hat e-card your friends or colleagues about it.

Make the Square Mile smile for a day, change an orphan's life forever. Here's how:

1. Buy your Bowler

You can use any old Bowler to take part in Bowler Hat Day but if you buy one from our listed suppliers then 10% of the price will go directly to SOS Children. See below for suppliers.

2. Wear your Bowler

3. Join us

... for a civilised Friday pint to raise a cheer and glass to the City at the Bowler Hatters' Party in Leadenhall Market from 5:30pm

Bowler Hat Day will:

• Show that even in difficult times, the City still has a heart and ...

13th February 2009 - Bowler Hat Day is an event that will truly lift spirits from Fleet Street to Aldgate and beyond.

We will also be selling hats for £10 (felt) and £2 (Plastic) with 50% going directly to SOS Childrens Villages.

Get your bowlers at Leadenhall Market on Bowler Hat Day, and London Bridge, City Thameslink and Fenchurch Street stations on 11th, 12th and, of course, 13th February.

Buy your Bowler from one of our listed suppliers and 10% of the price will go directly to SOS Children who give orphans across the world a family for life. Companies - contact us directly and we'll kit your staff out with plastic Bowlers for a donation to SOS Children.
